Holocaust Denial, that’s where we draw the line.
Here’s a wonderfully humorous post from a wonderful site called Bad Astronomy. The self-effacing title shouldn’t mislead. Phil Plait not only knows his Astronomy, he’s got a good eye for the hilarious.
It seems a certain Professor Kollerstrom got himself booted out of University College London, not because his pursuits were astrology and crop circles, but because he claimed that the holocaust was scientifically impossible.
Phil Plait says,
Holocaust deniers are every bit as irrational as any other type of fringe conspiracy theorist.
But at an academic level, a level where you try to be dispassionate when you investigate something so as not to bias yourself, Holocaust denial is not much different than belief in astrology or crop circles.
I guess that makes President Ahmadinejad irrational, being an outspoken holocaust denier. But, in case we didn’t get it, he’s also a gay denier. Here’s part of his unforgettable comments at Columbia University last September.
