Obama in Germany

The State Department employees in Berlin were ordered not to attend the speech. The Huffington Post has the story. I wonder what the point of that was?  Sounds like petty vindictiveness to me.

Here’s the CNN story covering the speech last night.

The BBC has part of the speech here. He doesn’t sound like a man with insufficient foreign affairs experience.  He sounds incredibly comfortable and perfectly within his element.

I’d love to hear your opinion.  Please feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Yes, he’s terrific.

Obama’s ease with audiences has set off the loony-right fundie-faction here in the USA, though (see my blog today); he seems to fit into their end-times antichrist sleuthing. Don’t underestimate them, they usually represent a subset of the conservative Republican base (talk radio listeners) and are accomplished right wing pests.

I think he can successfully ignore them, though (as he has so far), if he continues the way he is going.

Daisy, I think you’re right about his being able to continue to ignore those nuts.
