Obama playing the Race Card?
This CNN article describes the criticism which came from the McCain camp over remarks that Obama made in Missouri. Here’s the description of those comments in Barack’s own words.
“I was in Union, Missouri, which is 98 percent white — a rural, conservative [city]. And what I said was what I think everybody knows, which is that I don’t look like I came out of central casting when it comes to presidential candidates,”
I’m with James Clyburn, the Democratic Rep. of South Carolina and highest-ranking African-American in Congress, who said Obama wasn’t injecting race into the campaign he was injecting humor into it.
The LA Times has the Hollywood take on things. According to some, the ad featuring Paris Hilton backfired and actually hurt McCain’s efforts and smacks of desperation. I would agree with that. Besides,
Just for a start, industry types say the ad is wrong: In the Hollywood lexicon, Obama is not a celebrity. He’s a rock star. (Note to McCain strategists: That’s the difference between Jessica Simpson and Bono.)
The Carpetbagger Report has a great story about how the McCain folks have changed their game plan, for the worse.
Every word, every ad, and every press release from McCain and his gang has become relentlessly negative.
