The Anthrax Case
According to this article in CNN, the government is about to close the Anthrax case. The incredibly (and I mean that literally) convenient suicide of Bruce Ivins made it all possible.
Does this attitude make me a conspiracy theorist? I hinted at it in my other post about this. Maybe it’s like that old joke: “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not really out to get you.”
The LA Times reports on the emotional state of Ivins:
Details of Ivins’ disturbed emotional state, including his possession of firearms and a makeup kit and his obsession with a sorority, were presented Wednesday as the Justice Department explained — first to those directly affected by the anthrax attacks, then to the public at large — the government’s case against him.
I’m going to apologize to my gun advocate friends. That’s the LA Times saying, “possession of firearms and a makeup kit” constitute evidence of his emotional disturbance. Even to me that sounds a little crazy, but I guess the whole point is the guy was really nutty, was indeed responsible for the anthrax attacks and in the end killed himself. There goes another conspiracy theory.

heh, maybe he was just metro-sexual! You never know!
This reminds me of a funny story. A friend of mine is currently living in Verginia. He owns guns as well. Being a stickler for the law he read the laws on transporting guns through all the states between here and there, and found that New York and New Jersey he could get away with unloaded, locked-up rifles and shotguns, given that he was just passing through, but the handgun laws were just too confusing he didn’t want to risk it. So I took posession of his handgun untill he got situated and we came to visit. You see DRIVING with guns requires all sorts of knowlege of what the state laws are, and they’re damn confusing. FLYING with guns is amazingly common-sence and easy:

Just for added security and recognition, I tied a pink ribon onto the side of the armored case I bought for my friend. With the bow, it looked very much like a makeup kit.

Check the rap sheet of the nut who called Ivins nutty.
You can look her up on the web interface of Maryland criminal information.
Habitual drunk, drug user, and batterer of her soon to be ex-husband.
Most recently she was in court three months ago for a DUI and works as a substance abuse counselor. Not her first DUI either.
